They will participate in the ARRL International DX SSB Contest (4-5 March); during non-contest periods primary activity will be 9H3DX on SSB, 9H3V on CW, 9H3RY on RTTY and 9H3WF on PSK. Look for her on 20 metres SSB. [TNX F5NQL] AP - Dane, ST2T is now in Pakistan until the end of March. He has no chance to get an AP licence, but he will try to be active from Ijaz, AP2IA's station (QSL via AP2IA). [TNX S57DX] C6 - Peter, W2IRT will operate holiday style as C6/W2IRT from Nassau (NA-001), Bahamas on 4-10 March. He plans to be on 17 and 20 metres for the most part, using 100W and a dipole. [TNX NG3K] VK - The XVIII Commonwealth Games, contested by 4,500 athletes from 70 countries, will be held in Melbourne on 15-26 March. Two special event callsigns will be aired on 1-31 March to celebrate this event: AX3MCG ("Melbourne Commonwealth Games", operated by VK3EW and VK3QI aiming to achieve at least DXCC) and AX3GAMES (activated by a multi-operator roster). QSL for both via the VK3 bureau. Australian amateurs will be allowed to use the AX prefix during the games period. [TNX VK3EW] VU4 - Also Babs, DL7AFS and Lot, DJ7ZG have announced that they have plans to go and operate from the Andaman Islands. Special Call K5G will be used in addition to Magnolia DX Club's call K5MDX and W5VK. The DAP Mares was scheduled to leave on 21 February and tentative plans were to visit Deception Island on the way back to King George Island and on to Punta Arenas (Chile). However, the weather worsened to the point that the helicopter was not able to fly to pick up the remaining loads of gear and supplies still on Peter I. At 23.30 UTC on 23 February the team was still awaiting another break in the WX to retrieve their final loads, but the weather forecast is not good for another few days. DXCC NEWS: K3LP/KP5 and N3KS/KP5 from Desecheo Island (16-17 December 2005) have been approved for DXCC credit.
