purposes). The stations will be located in Bloemfontein and
Pretoria, the capitals of the two Boer Republics (namely Oranje

HZ1AB ---> It was the QSL manager (Leo Fry, K8PYD) operating in the CQ WW
RTTY DX Contest from HZ1AB. HZ1AB now has RTTY and PSK-31 capability and
should be active in these modes in the coming months along with 160 metre SSB
and CW operation. HZ1AB is planning participation in the coming CQ WW SSB and
CW DX Contests. Outstanding QSLs for all modes in the months of June, July
and August should be answered in near future. [TNX K8PYD]

IOTA 2000 ---> The purpose of the RSGB IOTA Millennium Programme (IOTA 2000)
is to celebrate the Millennium, to promote IOTA activity and to have fun on
the HF bands. The prgramme will be administered by the Chiltern DX Club-The
UK DX Foundation on behalf of the RSGB IOTA Committee. For full details
please visit http://www.425dxn.org/iota/iota2000

PIRATE ---> Gino Farina, 3A2MF reports that someone pirated 3A/I1YRL between
1 and 29 August 1999 (the information has been confirmed by Luc, I1YRL
himself). Gino maintains an updated list of both pirate and duly authorized
stations from Monaco; it can be requested at gino.3a2mf@wanadoo.fr

QSL AS-094 ---> The 19-21 September BI7Y IOTA DXpedition to Yangxing Island,
Xisha Archipelago (AS-143), logged some 4890 QSOs on CW and SSB. The
operation had been originally planned on 8-13 September, but it was delayed
first because the team was "asked to get extra permissions from higher class
agencies of both Chinese Navy and local government" and then by a typhoon. On
the other hand, while waiting to leave for Yangxing, the following operators
made some 1500 QSOs from Hainan Island (AS-094): BA1AJ/7 (P.O. Box 6111,
Beijing 100061, China), BA1DU/7 (QSL via W3HC), BA1HAM/7 (QSL via NE9Z),
BA4RC/7 (QSL via BY4RSA), BA4TA/7 (P.O. Box 219, Wuxi 214023, China), BA7IA/7
(P.O. Box 1239, Guangzhou 510630, China), BD7NQ/7 (QSL via W2AY). [TNX BA1DU]

QSL G4FRE/SV9 ---> David, WW2R reports that as of 24 September all direct QSL
cards for G4FRE/SV9 sent to WW2R have been answered. Logs are available at
http://www.flash.net/~g4fre/logsearch.htm

QSL VP2E ---> Joe Rich, W1EK is not, and has never been, the QSL manager for
VP2E. He is VP2EJR and did operate as such before, after and during the CQ WW
SSB DX Contest in October 1998. [TNX W1EK]

QSL VIA G3SWH ---> Phil, G3SWH has taken over ZF2NT from N2AU with immediate
effect, and is now acting for UA9CDC. Phil has a full copy of ZF2NT's logs
since 5 June 1998. Both stations have indicated that they want him to respond
to direct applications only. QSL to Phil Whitchurch, 21 Dickensons Grove,
Congresbury, Bristol, BS49 5HQ, United Kingdom. [TNX K1XN and The Golist]
